SHOPPING GUIDE FOR SWIMWEAR

With summertime here, thoughts and plans turn to water fun and of course you'll need a new swimsuit.  There is a style for absolutely every body type and we at Wholelottashopping.com are here to offer some helpful hints on how to choose the right swimsuit for you.

There are bikinis.  There are one-piece suits and Speedo race suits. There are tankinis, maillots, and sport suits whose bottoms are shorts.  There are skirted models and minimizers.  There are, as I said, a style for every body type.

If you have a model's body.  Slender, toned, tight and buff, shop away and choose several styles, since most, if not all of them will look great on you.  If, on the other hand, you have a little unwanted weight in the mid-section, a one-piece or tankini will do the trick to distract the eye from your problem area.  Unexpectedly, the higher the cut of the leg of a suit, the longer and leaner will be your look.  So don't dismiss a high-cut style if your legs aren't perfect.  The illusion of extra length is very slimming.  Skirted and short-bottom suits are perfect solutions to camouflage heavier thighs.  If you have great arms and your top is one of your best assets, you may want to try a maillot. This style is strapless and has a straight neckline across the upper chest that hugs the area right under your arms giving you a lovely elegant look.  The perfect addition to this suit is a sarong, or long skirt wrap made to match the fabric, color, and design of the suit.

When you're vacationing in a tropical resort or one closer to home, it's not uncommon to be quite comfortable with wearing this to dinner after a day lolling in the sand and sea.  Solid dark colors minimize.  Light colors and less coverage accentuate.  Choose wisely.  Few of us love to wear bathing suits that are too tight and too small.  Tugging on bottoms that creep up or constantly retrieving straps that have fallen off your shoulders is a nuisance at best.  Therefore, when choosing a suit, be honest with your size and buy one that fits well and gives you the look in the mirror that you'll be happy to share with the crowd at the pool or beach.  And of course pack along a large bottle of SPF 30 plus sun screen to save that beautiful skin for many swim and sunning events in your future.
